Electronic security

Security cameras and access control

Cameras, door and vehicle access, tele-entry and intercoms: the electronic security that decides who gets into the building and records what happens there.

Chapter 01

What fails in electronic security, and when you find out

Security systems fail without making noise. A camera that stopped recording weeks ago, a lens that lost focus, infrared that no longer reaches across the lot, storage that filled up and quietly stopped saving: you discover each one when you ask for the footage and it is not there. Cameras are only useful on the day someone needs the recording.

Access control fails more visibly but just as inconveniently. Door strikes and closers drift out of adjustment, card readers drop offline, gate operators and barrier arms jam, and tele-entry and intercom stations lose their audio. ESS calls itself an Electronic Security Specialist, and maintains, repairs and installs these systems for commercial and industrial buildings across Puerto Rico.

How we test the whole chain, device by device

Our trained engineers and technicians test each device end to end instead of trusting a green light on a screen. That means checking that a camera is live and that the recorder is actually saving it, that a card reader grants and denies the way it should, that a gate operator and barrier arm cycle cleanly, and that an intercom station carries sound in both directions.

The same visit covers door access controls and vehicular access controls, since a building's front door and its vehicle gate answer to the same question of who gets in. What we collect is analyzed, and a complete and detailed report follows with our findings and recommendations, so repairs can be planned and any new installation is specified from what was actually found on site.

Chapter 03

Why the record and the 24/7 line matter

A security system decides who gets in and records what happens, so a failure usually surfaces at the worst possible time, after an incident rather than before it. We keep electronic records of every service so the condition of the equipment can be tracked between inspections, and those digital records are always available to our customers.

Preventative maintenance reduces the risk of failures, and when repairs are needed we can deliver on tight deadlines. If a gate will not open, a door will not lock or a system goes down after a storm, call the 24/7 line at 787-944-3109. That one number reaches us for emergencies, equipment failure and natural disaster alike.
